Fred Provencher
Senior Teaching Pastor
Fred Provencher has been the Senior Teaching Pastor at Cornerstone Christian Church since February 1996. He is primarily responsible for preaching, overseeing the church staff and, along with the elders, the overall leadership of the church. Before coming to Cornerstone, he was the Youth Pastor at Hawthorne Gospel Church, where he was ordained in 1994. He has also served with churches in Colorado Springs and Somerset, NJ. Pastor Fred has a B.A. in history from Rutgers University, an M.Div. from Denver Seminary and is pursuing a D.Min. in preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Debbie, have been married since 1986. They live in Hawthorne with their four children.
Curt Leininger
Pastor of Discipleship
Curt joined the Cornerstone family at the beginning of summer 2007. After spending many previous years being a pastor in the student ministry world, he is now our Pastor of Discipleship and oversees a lot of what happens in our communities of small groups. Curt’s desire is to simply see people establishing themselves in the resurrected Jesus Christ so that they can become the love of God to the world around them. This is what God’s plan of redemption is all about. He firmly believes that the formation of God’s people best happens in the context of small group communities and mentoring relationships within the local church.
Curt has degrees from Moody Bible Institute and Philadelphia Biblical University Graduate School. Curt is married to his lovely wife, Nicole, and they have two wonderful kids.
Dave Hayman
Pastor of Youth Ministries
Dave Hayman has been the Pastor of Youth Ministries at Cornerstone since 2002. He grew up in Oradell New Jersey, attended Hackensack Christian High School, and went to church in Wyckoff NJ. After graduating from high school, Dave spent two years at a local college. He then left the area to pursue God's call on his life as a youth pastor. He earned his degree at Southeastern University in Florida. While there, he met his wife Kate who was pursuing a degree in elementary education.
Dave's first job as a youth pastor was in Winter Haven Florida. He served at that church part time for a year and a half while he and Kate were still in school. They were married in December 1999. Desiring to be closer to family, Dave and Kate left Florida and accepted a position in southern New Jersey in January of 2001. Dave served as youth pastor at that church for one year before answering the call to a position at Cornerstone Christian Church.
Along with John Oostdyk, Dave has seen the youth group through a tremendous transition time from outgrowing the space in the Goat Barn on campus, to a new youth room in our new facility--The McGuill Ministry Center. This ministry has grown under Dave and John's leadership from a group of just under one hundred teens to a youth group of almost three hundred kids, meeting three nights each week.
Dave and John have worked together as the youth pastors of Cornerstone from Dave's first day, and together developed the youth group's vision statement: To make passionate followers of Christ through relationships, discipleship, acts of service, and worship, who will reproduce themselves in their friends, families, and world.
Dave lives in West Milford, NJ with his wife and three kids, Ethan, Samuel and Annie-Grace. Dave completed his Masters Degree in Christian Education and Discipleship from Alliance Theological Seminary in the Spring of 2008.
John Oostdyk
Youth Pastor
John Oostdyk is a passionate guy. You’ll learn that within the first 5 minutes you meet him. His three greatest passions are God, his wife Tara and Dunkin' Donuts coffee—in that order. But John is at Cornerstone Christian Church because of yet another passion — youth (OK, that one comes before Dunkin' Donuts coffee).
As a Youth Pastor, John meets with and ministers to young people each week in one of Cornerstone’s three youth groups, smaller group settings and one-on-one. Whether he is leading a mission trip, coordinating a youth retreat or speaking to kids in the community, John's love for the Lord is evident and he wants nothing more than to share that love with the kids around him.
John and his wife Tara live in Hawthorne, and have two children, Colby and Shane.
Miguel Lau
Pastor of Young Adults Ministries
Miguel has worked at Cornerstone as the Pastor of Young Adult Ministries since the fall of 2003. In addition to working with the college-age and twenty-somethings group at Cornerstone, Miguel also assists with the coordination of the Small Group Ministry, as well as assisting with the IT needs of the church. Before entering full-time ministry at Cornerstone, he also worked in the tech industry as a project manager and integration consultant. Pastor Miguel holds a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Film from from Cornell University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary.
Miguel and his new wife, Janelle, live in Wayne, NJ. Janelle is a graduate of Wheaton College with a BA in Anthropology and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Monmouth University. Alongside his soon-to-be-wife, Miguel hopes to inspire the church to re-imagine its mission and calling as the incarnation of Christ; a people of Good News, social action, and compassionate love.
Jon Frank
Youth Pastor
Jonathan was born and raised in West Milford, NJ, and had the unique and character building opportunity and privilege to grow up at Shiloh Bible Camp, a retreat and discipleship center founded and directed by his parents, Cornerstone missionaries John & Sandy Frank. Although at young age he made a decision to believe in Jesus Christ, it wasn't until age 17 that Jon got serious with his relationship with his Savior and Master, Jesus Christ and felt a calling to serve Him. At the time Jon felt so inadequate to serve God because of his past struggles academically but pressing on to trust and follow God in the year 2000 he graduated high school and enrolled at Philadelphia Biblical University. While there, by God's grace, he completed an Associates degree in Biblical Studies while volunteering as a Sr. High youth leader in his home church in West Milford. He then enrolled at Nyack College and completed his bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry and Bible while serving as a youth intern. Jon then was offered and accepted the role of Youth Pastor at his home church and later took on the role of Worship Pastor, while completing his Masters of Divinity at Biblical Theological Seminary.
On July 14th, 2007 Jon married his best friend Jessica whom he had been dating since middle school. They currently live in a small cabin in the woods of West Milford with their cat, Moses, and hope to add to the family with a dog, and a few kids someday. In Jon's free time he enjoys spending time with Jessica, his family, and friends, playing, writing, or listening to music, playing or watching sports (NY Jets, NY Mets, NJ Nets, and any other underdog team), and hiking.
In September 2007 Jon joined the pastoral staff at Cornerstone. His hope is too continue his passion of meeting teenagers where they are at and leading them to where they need to be.
Kerri Niebles
Director of Children's Ministries
Kerri joined the Cornerstone staff three years ago, interning in our Children’s Ministry department. Since then she has graduated from Montclair State University and completed her bachelor’s in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Development. Kerri has grown to know and love our church families and their children over the years and in May 08 stepped up to be our Director of Children’s Ministry. Kerri has a big smile on her face no matter when and where you run into her. She has enormous passion when it comes to working with kids, and it shows! She has great dreams for our kids and is challenged to lead them by example as she follows the words of her favorite verse:
Ephesians 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Kerri desires to see kids and families come to know God as their Lord and Savior and grow to be imitators of God as they share their love for Him with others. She knows that an individual’s child-like faith impacts their life-long journey deeply and understands what she teaches the children must not only be Biblically sound, but developmentally appropriate. For this reason her Philosophy of Children’s Ministry is designed to lead even the youngest child to develop a basic understanding of who Jesus is and how much he loves them.
Kerri’s passion is not contained within church walls, but her vision extends outward to those in the community and around the world. She has traveled the world on various mission trips and been sensitive to God’s leading in her life. These experiences have led to see God’s power in the midst of difficult times, his constant provision, and his compassion for his people. These experiences have inspired her to challenge Cornerstone kids to expand their horizons and learn about and care for both the community and world around them.
Whether in the middle of a third world country or at her home in New Jersey, Kerri sees the desperation people have for hope. Hope in success, wealth, good grades, or athletic abilities is unreliable and quite often not enough. The one unfailing hope we have to offer is a gift that is most easy to take but often the hardest to grasp; the hope found in Jesus. On September 13, 2008 Kerri married Omar Niebles. The couple now resides in Allendale, NJ.
Sam Macy
Worship Leader
Sam started in a worship band for the youth group while in high school, and they were invited to play for church services during Youth Month. The youth band immediately became a permanent part of Sunday morning worship times and Sam was eventually invited to be a worship leader on the staff of Cornerstone Christian Church.
Sam has a degree in sound engineering and helps with the audio setup when needed. He works for various television studios and with a company that sets up sound equipment for musical performances. He truly loves worshiping the Lord through singing and playing the guitar.
In 2005, Sam married Melissa, a professional violinist, and her musical talent has added a depth to the worship team.
Lorrie Jackson
Choir
Director/Office Administrator
Laura (Lorrie) Jackson - Choir Director at Cornerstone for almost 20 years, but has been attending Cornerstone since she was 6 months old. She has a passion to see people meet God in and through their worship. Lorrie "counts it a privilege to be doing what I love in my home church."
Lorrie is married with two children who both work at the church. She has B.A. in Music from William Paterson as well as a B.A. in Liberal Studies Computer Science. From the time she accepted Christ as her Savior, back in 6th grade, Lorrie knew that she was called to do music in the church. She was saved through music and knows that the music ministry here has impacted many lives. She enjoys playing keyboard for one of the Contemporary worship bands, working with the adult choir and now working once again with the Kids choir. "It is very special to see people of all ages respond to God through music and worship."
On a personal note, Lorrie is a big puzzle person. She will spend hours doing 1500 piece or larger puzzles, Sudoku and crossword puzzles, as well as other mind boggling games.
